Fairless Landfill

Fairless Landfill is conveniently located in Falls Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The facility provides safe disposal services for communities, businesses and industries.

Waste Management's approximately 300 disposal facilities employ the latest advances in landfill technology. Fairless is engineered with environmental protection systems that meet or exceed rigorous government regulations and are subject to stringent monitoring and reporting requirements. These systems include engineered liners and capping, leachate collection and treatment systems, and the landfill gas collection system.

In 2004, Waste Management entered into an agreement with US Steel to purchase property for the proposed landfill site. Waste Management made a $20 Million Investment in the property to clean up environmental impacts in former borrow pits. Under Pennsylvania's brownfield redevelopment regulartions, we cleaned up a hazardous waste disposal area, filled remaining pits and reclaimed these areas by placing clean soil over them. Materials exhumed were disposted of at an off-site facility.

PA DEP SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PERMIT #101699

The facility is permited to accept municipal solid waste, construction/demolition waste, residual waste and special handling municipal waste. The Fairless Landfill does not accept hazardous waste or liquid waste.
